Introduction
Valensole is a small town located at the intersection of the Luberon Mountains and the Alps, with an altitude of up to 590 meters, and is also one of the most famous towns in Provence. The dry and sunny climate in summer and the abundant plateau sunshine make it an excellent environment for the growth of lavender. This small town with a population of less than 2,000 has the largest lavender field in Provence, and many residents are from families specializing in lavender-related industries and make a living from them. There are also many professional lavender processing factories around the town, all of which use the most natural and pure methods to extract lavender essential oil and make various lavender small products. Every year on the third Sunday in July, Valensole holds an annual Lavender Festival, where residents wear traditional costumes to perform parades, and there is also a grand lavender market selling pure natural lavender products and typical Provencal utensils, as well as unique lavender-flavored ice cream.
