Introduction

The Castle of the Dukes of Brittany, also known as the Nantes Castle, is the last castle before the mouth of the Loire River. It was built in the Middle Ages when Brittany was still an independent kingdom, and it was used to defend against the invasion of France. The Duke's Palace and other buildings were constructed between the 15th and 18th centuries in an elegant Renaissance style. The contrast between the interior architecture and the exterior walls of the castle is intriguing. The Castle of the Dukes of Brittany is located in the center of Nantes, making it easily accessible by foot.
