Introduction

During the period from 1901 to 1902, Paul Cézanne bought a piece of land in the outskirts of Aix-en-Provence, France, and built a two-story house with his studio on the top floor. The courtyard is spacious, with sunlight streaming through green trees, creating beautiful dappled shadows. The room is filled with natural light, with a large window on the north wall and three windows on the south side, as well as two windows on the other side. From inside, one can directly see Mont Sainte-Victoire, a view that often appeared in his paintings.
