Introduction

The Girondist Column, located on the west side of Place de la Concorde, is one of the iconic buildings in the center of Paris. Built between 1894 and 1902, the monument aims to commemorate the history and upheavals of the French Revolution. Following the French Revolution, the Girondists briefly held power but gradually declined after being defeated by Austria in the war. In the midst of brutal political struggles, 22 main members of the Girondist Party were executed as war criminals in 1793, and this monument was erected to commemorate these 22 victims. Whether you are interested in history or not, you should not miss this historical landmark.
