Introduction
The Saint-Jacques Tower is a Gothic tower located in the 4th arrondissement of Paris, France. It has a height of 52 meters and is the only remaining part of the Saint-Jacques-la-Boucherie Church, which was formerly a slaughterhouse. Construction of the tower began in 1509 and was completed in 1523, during the reign of King Francis I of France. Shortly after, in 1797, the entire church was demolished, with the exception of the tower. In 1998, the Saint-Jacques Tower was included as part of the French Way of the Camino de Santiago and was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
