Introduction

Located in the center of Paris, adjacent to the Seine River and the Louvre Museum, the church is considered part of the Louvre and was once the religious domain of the French kings. Founded in the 7th century, it has undergone multiple reconstructions and now showcases various architectural styles such as Romanesque, Gothic, and Renaissance. The church's portal is particularly striking, built in the early 15th century by Jean Gaussel, featuring rose windows and a balustrade that surrounds the entire church. Inside the church, there are many precious artworks including a wooden statue of Saint Germain from the 15th century, a stone carving of the Wezembeek-Jauche of Saragossa from the same period, a wooden altarpiece from Flanders, and the famous important person's seat made by François Le Mercier in 1683 based on the design by Charles Le Brun.
