Introduction

The Suzdal Kremlin is a large complex of stone buildings, but there is a small wooden church called St. Nicholas Church. It was built in 1766 and is located in the village of Grato, Yuryev-Polsky District. In 1960, the church was restored and moved to Suzdal, becoming the first exhibit of the Wooden Architecture Museum, fulfilling Suzdal's heritage preservation and development plan. Today, St. Nicholas Church is one of the most important exhibits in the Suzdal Museum, showcasing unique woodworking craftsmanship. The church was built without using a single nail and features clear outlines, perfect proportions, exquisite altars, and an elegant church roof covered with poplar. After becoming a tourist center, the church's history and craftsmanship have attracted visitors from around the world.
