Introduction

Yefimiyevsky Monastery was founded in 1352 by Boris Konstantinovich, the Grand Duke of Suzdal and Nizhny Novgorod, and the monk Yevfimiy. It gradually became a place of worship for nobles and merchants. The monastery is said to be surrounded by walls and looks magnificent in the reflection of the Kamenka River. In the 17th century, the monastery was destroyed by the Lithuanian-Polish army, leaving only a 8-meter high, 1.5-kilometer long wall with 12 towers. The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin was built in the 16th century and has seven domes and 17th-century watercolor paintings on its walls. The bell tower next to the church often hosts enchanting concerts for visitors. There are four churches inside the monastery, one of which is the Cathedral of the Annunciation located above the main gate. The Cathedral of the Assumption serves as a dining hall and exhibits works of Russian folk painters. The St. Nicholas Church has been converted into a museum, displaying the monastery's treasures. Additionally, the monastery was once used as a museum showcasing exhibits such as punishment rooms. After the October Revolution, it became a prison for clergy and political prisoners, but was later abolished. The monastery has since been returned to the church and has become a historic cultural site, attracting visitors from around the world. The beauty of the monastery's architectural landmarks continues to be praised.

Saint Petersburg (Russian: Санкт-Петербург), established in 1703 on the marshland at the deepest point of the Gulf of Finland, showcases Peter the Great's ambition in its architectural style and natural landscapes. In the past 300 years, the city has undergone several name changes, from Leningrad to Petrograd, and now Saint Petersburg. Its fate has also been tumultuous, including experiencing the White Terror, enduring a 900-day siege, and witnessing the heroic defense during the Great Patriotic War. Its brilliance has never been overshadowed by gunfire or bloodshed. After protection and reconstruction, it remains "open, inclusive, and romantic"
