Introduction
The Dmitryevsky Cathedral is located inside the Vyšhorod Duke's Palace at the end of the 12th century. It is a limestone church known for its exquisite reliefs on the outer walls. The reliefs depict saints, historical figures, plants, and animals, creating a colorful "stone poem" or "stone carpet." Unlike traditional brick and tile construction, this church was built using easily processed limestone, showcasing the craftsmen's imagination and skills. European craftsmen were also involved in the construction, adding elements of Romanesque architecture. The most prominent relief is the image of the ancient Israelite king David playing a graceful harp in the center window on three sides of the outer walls. Additionally, historical figures, such as Alexander the Great, and the image of the Vyšhorod Duke, who ordered the construction of the cathedral, are portrayed. The Duke is depicted facing the northern wall with his son in his arms in the upper left corner. Address Bolshaya Moskovskaya St., 60, Vladimir, Vladimir Oblast, Russia 600000
