Introduction

The Smolny Palace, located in Saint Petersburg, was built in 1806 and originally served as a noble girls' school. During the October Revolution in 1917, the Bolshevik Party's Military Revolutionary Committee established the headquarters of the October Revolution here. From mid-November 1917 to March 1918, Lenin worked and lived here. Currently, the Smolny Palace serves as a government office.
