Introduction

Lieutenant Schmidt Bridge, later renamed as Blagoveshchensky Bridge, is one of the oldest bridges in Saint Petersburg, built in the mid-19th century. The bridge has undergone multiple expansions and renovations, with the most significant one taking place in 1930. It measures 331 meters in length and 37 meters in width. The name of the bridge has changed several times, from its original name, Lieutenant Schmidt Bridge, to its current name. From late April to late October, the Blagoveshchensky Bridge opens at night to facilitate the passage of ships.
