Introduction
This private museum was established to commemorate Karl Gustavovich Faberge (1846.5.30-1920), a famous Russian jeweler, gemstone craftsman, and decorative arts designer. The museum is owned by Russian oil tycoon Viktor Vekselberg, who purchased nine Faberge eggs, as well as many Faberge jewelry and original paintings from the Forbes family, media moguls, in April 2004 for a price of $100 million.
