Introduction

Catherine Garden, also known as Catherine Palace, was built in 1708 by Peter the Great for his wife, later known as Catherine I. The palace was designed by the Italian architect Bartolomeo Rastrelli, and it is composed of blue, white, and yellow, which are said to represent the blue eyes, white skin, and golden hair of the lady of the house.
