Introduction
The two must-visit museums in St. Petersburg are the Hermitage Museum and the Russian National Museum. The Hermitage Museum is located in the Winter Palace, while the Russian National Museum is located in the Mikhailovsky Palace. Established in 1895, it is the oldest museum in Russian history, with exhibits ranging from the 10th century to contemporary Russian art. The museum is most famous for its collection of paintings by Repin, including world-renowned works such as "Barge Haulers on the Volga" and "The Meeting of the State Council". The entrance is not at the main gate where the two lion statues are, but through a small door to the right of the gate. The museum also provides a "Ru Guide" mobile application that offers relevant text and audio information. In addition, the museum has two branches: the Marble Palace and the Mikhailovsky Castle. However, if time is limited, visitors can just visit the main museum, as there are many other museums and attractions in St. Petersburg waiting to be discovered. Opening hours Thursday 13:00-21:00, Monday, Wednesday, Friday to Sunday 10:00-18:00
closed on Tuesdays, the Mikhailov Palace is open from 10:00 to 20:00 on Monday.
