Introduction

In Moscow, there are 4,000 streets of different sizes that crisscross and lead in all directions. These streets all start from the same central point, which is the zero kilometer mark of the Moscow Highway. This mark is located at the entrance of the Red Square, outside the Iberian Gate (also known as the Gate of the Resurrection of Jesus). The mark is a large copper circle, with a small copper circle in the center and a line of Russian text carved around it, meaning "Zero Kilometer of the Russian Federation Highway." Standing on this copper circle, you are in the center of Moscow.
