Introduction
Pushkin Museum Main Building is an art museum founded by Ivan Tsvetaev, the father of the great poet Zvyagintsev, in the late 19th century. It is one of the most important classic art museums in Moscow, along with the Tretyakov Gallery. Despite the large number of tourists, it is still favored by locals. When there are major temporary exhibitions, the queues can even wrap around the museum's main building. The museum's most notable collection is its large number of replica masterpieces, ranging from ancient Mesopotamian art to European Renaissance masterpieces. Don't worry about these replicas, as the untrained eye would find it difficult to distinguish them from the original works. There are also many original works, with impressive collections of ancient Egyptian, Trojan, and Coptic art on the first floor, as well as works by famous painters such as Botticelli, Tiepolo, Lucas Cranach the Elder, Rembrandt, Rubens, Poussin, Watteau, and Bosch among the numerous oil paintings. For many art enthusiasts, the real highlight is the 19th-20th century European and American Art Branch next to the main building of the Pushkin Museum. It showcases works by many artists such as Friedrich, Delacroix, Millet, Manet, Monet, Renoir, Van Gogh, Cézanne, Gauguin, Matisse, Picasso, and more. In the hall of Matisse's works, there are even several Fauvist palettes that he used.
