Introduction
Tretyakov Gallery is one of the most famous art museums in Russia, housing a collection of Russian art treasures from ancient to modern times. With over 60 exhibition halls, including the main building and branch galleries, it takes at least 3 to 4 hours to fully appreciate all the exhibits. The gallery was established by the wealthy merchant Tretyakov in the 19th century and includes Russian religious art and masterpieces from the 18th century onwards. There is also a branch gallery dedicated to 20th-century art, as well as an interesting museum located in the northern part of the city, which features the works of the renowned master of Art Nouveau, Ivan Vasilyevich Vasnetsov, and his beautifully designed mansion. The history of the gallery is intertwined with the history of its collections, as several collectors in the 19th and 20th centuries continuously amassed valuable artworks, laying the foundation for the museum today. The Tretyakov Gallery's collection encompasses art from ancient to modern times, making it a must-visit tourist attraction in Moscow for visitors from all over the world.
