Introduction
Arbat Street has a history of over 500 years and was once a famous ancient street known for its art. However, it has now become an exclusive area for foreign tourists, like Red Square. Souvenir shops along the street employ African staff who greet the tourists in Chinese. Artists always play the same song in the same spot, and sellers display poorly made cartoon figures. Only local residents can be seen on the street on sunny weekends.
Arbat Street connects the Garden Ring and the Boulevard Ring, and people sweeping the street from east to west can enjoy the architectural scenery along the road.
There is also a new Arbat Street that extends west from the same point as the old one, but due to its domino-like buildings along the road, it has become one of the ugliest streets in Moscow. Transportation East access: Take subway line 1 to Lenin Library Station (Библиотека им. Ленина), lines 3 and 4 to Arbatskaya Station (Арбатская), and line 9 to Borovitskaya Station (Боровицкая); or take buses 015 and 6, and trams 1, 2, 15, 31, and 44.
