Introduction
The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is located in Alexander Garden in Moscow, Russia, commemorating the unknown soldiers of the Great Patriotic War. In 1967, the remains of a Red Army soldier from the original grave were transferred here. A deep red marble tomb stands in front of the grave, with a bronze sculpture of a soldier's helmet, laurel branch, and a flag laid on top. A raised bronze five-pointed star on the torch stand displays the eternal flame. Two glass pavilions with sentries stand on either side of the memorial, guarding it 24 hours a day. Every hour, the guards perform an impressive changing of the guard ceremony. Behind the Tomb, there is an arsenal tower called the Weapons Arsenal Tower, named after its proximity to the Museum of Military Equipment. Twelve granite markers, each engraved with the names of 12 "Hero Cities" from the Great Patriotic War, are a tribute to the heroes of the war. Leaders and dignitaries from around the world come to pay their respects and lay wreaths. This revered place serves as a reminder for us to remember the spirit of sacrifice of the fallen soldiers.
