Introduction

Once the most popular medieval torture museum in Rothenburg, it has now been expanded into a complete legal museum. The exhibition hall covers an area of 2500 square meters and showcases the history of legal development from the late Middle Ages to the 19th century, including legal documents and trial records from that time. It also displays a large number of torture devices, tools of shame and chastity punishment, accompanied by relevant documents and drawings, vividly depicting the methods of judicial punishment at that time.
