Introduction
St. Spirit Church is located in the Market Square of Heidelberg's old town. It is one of the largest and historically significant churches in the region. Built between 1344 and 1441 in the Gothic style, it has withstood the test of time for seven centuries. Inside the church, there were once many tombs of kings and electors, but they were unfortunately destroyed during the War of the Grand Alliance. Only the burial site of Elector Rupert III remains. The interior of the church is modest in design. From 1706 to 1936, there was a partition dividing the worship space for Catholics and Protestants to worship simultaneously. Today, it is a Protestant church. Surrounding the exterior walls of the church, there are many stalls selling various exquisite souvenirs and cultural products. This is one of the traditional sights in the Market Square, where visitors can deeply immerse themselves in the culture and history of this ancient city. Address Marktpl, 69115 Heidelberg, Germany
