Introduction

Heidelberg University in Germany was founded in 1386 and is the third oldest university in Europe. It currently has 12 faculties and nearly 30,000 registered students, with rapid development in fields such as theology, law, medicine, and philosophy. The university square is the core of the university, surrounded by many university-related buildings, departments, and the former residences of famous scholars. The Alte Universität and Neue Universität, located on the edge of the square, are two major campuses built in the early 18th and 20th centuries, respectively. The university library, located not far from the square at Plöck 107, combines Germanic Revival and Art Nouveau styles, with its red brick and gold embellishments, making it quite beautiful. In addition, the library offers free public access to many valuable books.
