Introduction
National Museum is a good choice to escape bad weather. Formerly a palace built in 1743 by the Danish crown prince and his wife, it has now transformed into the National Museum, showcasing different periods of Danish history such as the Stone Age, Viking Age, Middle Ages, Renaissance, and modern times. The museum has a rich collection of world classical artifacts, including Victorian-era apartments that give a sense of time travel. It also houses Danish national treasures like the ancient Sun Chariot and the Egtved Girl, as well as recent astonishing discoveries from the Viking era. One of the highlights is a well-preserved body dating back to the first few years of the 1st century AD.
If visitors come with children, they should not miss the Children's Museum. Children can experience the pirate life of the ancient Viking era by boarding a pirate ship, explore medieval kitchens, a silk shop from Pakistan, and a Danish school from 100 years ago. Of course, the museum also showcases some ancient Chinese relics. English guided tours are available in July, August, and September. Address Prinsens Palace, Ny Vestergade 10, 1471 Copenhagen
