Built in the 13th to 15th centuries, this church has undergone several renovations and incorporates various architectural styles. Its 122-meter tower is a striking example of the Bruges style. Although not the main cathedral of Bruges, the church still impresses with its grandeur. Made of red bricks, it is one of the tallest brick churches on the European continent. Inside the church, locals take pride in Michelangelo's statue of the Madonna and Child. According to records, Bruges had frequent trade relations with Florence at that time, and a Bruges merchant purchased this extraordinary artwork from there.
