Molly Malone, A Tribute to the Resilience of Ordinary Life
Suffolk Street, Dublin 2, Ireland
3.8
Introduction
Molly Malone statue is located at the intersection of Grafton Street and Suffolk Street (now relocated in front of Dublin Tourist Center). She is depicted in 17th-century attire as a beautiful young woman. Forced by circumstances, she sold fish during the day and engaged in prostitution at night to make a living. Sadly, she eventually contracted a disease and passed away. Her story has been turned into a folk song and has been passed down through generations. In celebration of Dublin's millennium, the Molly Malone statue was completed in 1987. It has since been moved and now stands in front of St. Andrew's Church, with directions available at the tourist center. Address Suffolk Street, Dublin 2, Ireland
