Introduction

Chester Beatty Library, built in 1950, is a charitable library that aims to provide books to the public and scholars, helping them with their studies and research, while enhancing their understanding and appreciation of world cultural heritage represented in the library and promoting the exchange between Irish people and other cultures. The library is entrusted to a board of trustees and committed to delivering the best services to meet the needs of the public. 90% of its funding comes from sponsorship from the tourism, culture, and sport sectors. The collections in the library are mainly divided into two parts: religious traditions and art traditions, featuring manuscripts, paintings, rare editions, and decorative arts from Muslim, East Asian, and Western traditions.
