Introduction

Daxi Old Street is a famous historical street in the province, including traditional shophouses on Heping Road, Zhongshan Road, and Zhongzheng Road. Originally, the area was a traditional shopping street with long and narrow "shophouse" buildings. However, during the Japanese occupation in 1919, some buildings on Heping Road and Zhongshan Road were demolished for urban planning. To highlight the Baroque style, merchants started using intricate and elaborate relief patterns. In addition to listening to tour guides on the old street, visitors can also learn how to play spinning tops in the Zhongshan Old Street Square, reminiscing about the innocence of childhood. Furthermore, attractions such as Cihu, Zhongzheng Park, and the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall have become must-visit places along the tourist route.
