Introduction
To show gratitude for Taiwan's assistance and support during the Great Hanshin Earthquake, residents of the Miyamae community in Japan have decided to move a 100-year-old historic house - the father's house of famous Japanese writer Mizushima Tsutomu - to Taiwan as a commemoration. The relocation process of the old house was very lengthy, undergoing five years of dismantling, shipping, reassembling and reconstruction, finally being perfectly rebuilt in the Tamsui Peace Park. This memorial not only symbolizes the friendship between the two countries, but also pays tribute to the people who performed well during the Taiwan 921 Earthquake. The entire process of relocating the old house strives for perfection in order to preserve the original appearance of the historic architecture. It is not only an engineering feat, but also a gift of inheritance and friendship. Address 6th Lane, Section 1, Zhongzheng Road, Tamsui District, New Taipei City
