Introduction
Fort Santo Domingo, originally built by the Spanish in 1628 for the purpose of conquering northern Taiwan, was reconstructed by the Dutch in 1644 and renamed "Fort Anthonio". Starting from 1867, the British government leased the fort as the location of the British Consulate, until it was returned to the Taiwanese authorities in 1972. Fort Santo Domingo is one of the oldest surviving buildings in Taiwan and is listed as a national first-class monument. Address No. 1, Lane 28, Zhongzheng Road, Tamsui District, New Taipei City
