Introduction

The National Revolutionary Martyrs' Shrine, located in Yuan Shan, Taipei, Taiwan, was built in 1969. It is the highest-ranked place of worship for the martyrs and the representative place to pay tribute to the fallen heroes. Modeled after Beijing's Forbidden City, this building also serves as the capital's Martyrs' Shrine. It is the largest Martyrs' Shrine in Taiwan, with the spirits of 330,000 soldiers enshrined, including Zhang Lingfu and Zhang Zizhong. The shrine offers a changing of the guard ceremony at 9:00 in the morning and the last ceremony at 16:40, featuring impressive rifle drills. There is usually a line of tour buses and visitors waiting at the entrance on the hour. The shrine worshiped more than 390,000 fallen soldiers.
