Introduction
The Geothermal Valley is located near Beitou Park, it is one of the sources of the Beitou Hot Springs, with an area of approximately 3500 square meters, it is also Park 56 of Beitou Park. It is the hottest hot spring in the Datunshan area and one of Taiwan's Eight Wonders and Twelve Sites. There is a hot spring lake in the scenic area, with a water temperature of up to 90°C, the steam rising forms beautiful sulfur smoke, known as "Mineral Jade Mist". The hot springs in Geothermal Valley are acidic "green sulfur springs", which are only found in Akita, Japan and the Beitou District. Sulfur gas in the valley often spews out from underground, filling the air with steam, so visitors are not allowed to cook eggs in the hot springs. In order to protect visitors, the hot spring hydro-park in the valley has been designated as a no-cooking zone. Due to the therapeutic effects of sulfur hot springs on skin diseases, visitors can soak their feet in the creek at the hot spring museum.
