Introduction

National Taiwan University, abbreviated as NTU, is a prestigious research university in the Republic of China (Taiwan). It is also the largest comprehensive university in Taiwan. Established during the Japanese colonial era as Taipei Imperial University, the campus retains many old buildings. Visitors are free to enter the campus and experience the student life and academic atmosphere. The campus offers affordable student cafeterias and coffee shops, providing a unique experience of campus life. Within the campus, there is the Fu Gardens. Fu Gardens is the burial site of Fu Ssu-nien, a former president of NTU. In front of the tomb stands a Fu Clock. The image of the Fu Clock is also featured on the university emblem. It chimes 21 times every day, based on Fu Ssu-nien's saying: "There are only 21 hours in a day, and the remaining 3 hours are for contemplation." According to a legend at NTU, couples are advised not to visit Fu Gardens together, as it is believed to lead to a breakup. Additionally, there is a ghost story about the Fu Clock chiming 25 times. If you have time, you can take a stroll along Zhou Shan Road to admire the beautiful architecture and plants. Moreover, NTU is located across Roosevelt Road from the famous Gongguan Night Market, which is a popular gathering spot for NTU students. The food and bookstore prices there are also quite affordable. Whether you are seeking physical nourishment or spiritual inspiration, you can find it at NTU and Gongguan Night Market.
