Introduction
Dagoba of Thuparama is one of the oldest stupas in Sri Lanka, which has been destroyed and reconstructed over the years. It was rebuilt in 1840 and now stands at a height of 19 meters. The shape of the new stupa has changed from its original mound shape to a bell-like inverted shape. Nearby, there are still leaning pillars, showcasing the history of Sri Lanka's unique circular stupas.
