Introduction
Victoria Park is located in the center of Nuwara Eliya. It was originally a research area of Hakgala Botanical Garden, but later became a park due to the visit of a German prince. In 1897, to commemorate the diamond jubilee of Queen Victoria's 60th anniversary of her reign, the park was renamed Victoria Park. Victoria Park is very peaceful, and while strolling through it, you will find the footprints of many small animals, especially birds such as Indian paradise flycatchers, spotted doves, and Indian pittas. It has become a famous bird-watching spot in the area. If you want to go bird-watching, it is recommended to choose the early morning or evening when it is easier to observe various bird species.
