The Moji Port Retro District, centered around Moji Port Station, preserves many historical buildings. This area was once an international port city and experienced a prosperous period since its opening in 1889. Many trading companies and transportation companies constructed office buildings in Western-style architecture. Several buildings, including JR Moji Port Station, were built during the Meiji and Taisho eras and have been designated as important cultural properties by the Japanese government. Transportation Board the "Fukuoka Airport - Kokura" bus from Fukuoka Airport and get off at Kokura Station. Take the train towards Moji from JR Kokura Station. Travel time is approximately 1 hour and 35 minutes.
