Introduction

Kumamoto Castle is located in Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. It was built by Kato Kiyomasa. During its construction, ginkgo trees were planted around the castle for food and defense against enemy attacks, hence its nickname "Ginkgo Castle". Kumamoto Castle is one of the three major famous castles in Japan, along with Nagoya Castle and Osaka Castle.
