Introduction

Izumigai Shrine is a historic shrine located in Chikuzen City, Japan. It is considered the ancestor of about 2000 Izumigai Shrines nationwide and retains traces of ancient shrine architecture. The main hall of the shrine has been designated as an important cultural property by the Japanese government. This shrine is dedicated to Izumi no Okami and is revered by the Japanese as a deity for good luck, maritime safety, and sumo wrestling. Additionally, the shrine features an impressive Noh Theater with a unique wooden stage.
