Introduction

The name of the Attarine Madrasa comes from its location, near the Attarine spice and perfume market in Fez. Built between 1323-5 by Sultan Abu Said Othman II of the Marinid dynasty, it is renowned for its beautiful tilework and wood carvings, similar to other Marinid buildings of the same period.
