Historical site

Introduction

Medina, meaning "old city", can be traced back to the late 8th century. In 808 AD, the Idrisid dynasty established its capital here, and Medina was able to rapidly expand and develop. During the Almohad dynasty, Medina had already become a city of the size seen today.

Transportation

Taxis are available and cost around 10 dirhams from the train station. Alternatively, buses such as the No. 10 and No. 19 can be taken from the train station. The No. 10 bus stops at Bab Boujloud and the No. 19 bus terminates at Bab Jdid.
