Introduction
The Osaka and Kyoto regions during the Edo period are commonly referred to as "Kamigata," giving rise to the art form known as Kamigata Ukiyo-e. The main subject of Kamigata Ukiyo-e is Kabuki actors, and what sets it apart is its realistic portrayal of the performers without excessive embellishments. Today, the Kamigata Ukiyo-e Museum exhibits over 50 works, making it the only museum in the world dedicated to long-term exhibitions of Kamigata woodblock print Ukiyo-e. The allure of these artworks cannot be described in words - they must be seen firsthand to be fully appreciated. Address 1-6-4 Namba, Chuo-ku, Osaka City
