Introduction

The Garan of Koyasan, founded by Kukai (also known as Kobo Daishi), the originator of Shingon Esoteric Buddhism, is a sacred place. There are several Buddhist temples within the temple, with the most prominent being the 49-meter-tall Konpon Daito tower, which is magnificent and attracts numerous tourists.
