Introduction

Kyoto Botanical Garden, located in the Sakyo Ward of Kyoto, is one of the oldest public botanical gardens in Japan with a total area of 240,000 square meters. Established on January 1, 1924, it is one of the earliest public botanical gardens in Japan. However, it was forced to close down during the occupation by the Allied Forces in 1946. It was not until April 1961 that the garden was reopened, providing a wonderful place for locals and visitors to enjoy the beauty of plants.
