Introduction

A lesser-known cherry blossom viewing spot in Japan is Harayuen. This is a privately operated cherry blossom garden that is open for visitation with an entrance fee only during the cherry blossom season. The cherry blossoms usually bloom from around March 21st to April 25th. The garden covers an area of 4,000 square meters and features mainly multi-petal weeping cherry trees, as well as beautiful Fugenzo and a few other single-petal cherry blossoms. As it is a private garden, bringing alcohol and food is prohibited, but visitors can pre-order bento boxes and enjoy them at designated areas within the garden. Of course, the beautiful scenery is not to be missed.
