Introduction

Kyoto National Museum is located in Okazaki Park, Sakyo-ku, Kyoto City. It is managed by the independent administrative agency National Museum. The museum mainly exhibits artworks from the Kansai and western regions of Japan, including many Japanese and Western paintings with Kyoto as the theme. At the same time, the museum actively collects and showcases masterpieces from the Kyoto art world. The museum was designed by renowned architect Fumihiko Maki and was completed in 1986.
