Introduction

Eng: Daideji Temple is a head temple of the Rinzai sect Daideji school, located in Kita Ward, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. Its mountain name is "Ryuhosan". The main image of the temple is Shakyamuni Buddha, and it was founded by Great Teacher Sokei Myocho. Daideji Temple, known for producing many distinguished monks, has had a profound influence on Japanese tea ceremony culture. Additionally, it is an integral part of Japanese culture, as famous historical figure Oda Nobunaga is buried in the temple's sub-temple, Sogiin.
