Introduction
At the end of this uphill road, there is a dark black pagoda called "Yasaka Pagoda", which is the symbol of the Higashiyama district. It is said that this pagoda was built by Prince Shotoku 1,500 years ago and is one of the oldest five-storied pagodas in Japan. Despite experiencing multiple fires, it still stands today. The current appearance of the pagoda was rebuilt by shogun Ashikaga Yoshinori in 1440. Address "〒605-0827 Kyoto Prefecture, Kyoto, Higashiyama Ward, Yasaka Kamimachi 372"
