Introduction

The Kek Lok Si Temple was built in 1800 and is located opposite the reclining Buddha temple. Inside the temple are 30 beautifully crafted statues depicting the stages of life from birth to death. Additionally, the temple houses a pair of mysterious creatures with deer horns, elephant trunks, horse hooves, dragon bodies, and eagle wings, standing on top of a globe. They symbolize the sacred duty of protecting the Earth. It is said that by touching the globe and visualizing the country you want to visit, your wish will come true. Visitors can try holding the globe and see if the next place they want to go is right at their feet.
