Introduction

In 1786, Father Farve built the cathedral, and later it was relocated to Pitt Street in 1857. Father Manissolu then constructed the adjacent building. By 1861, the church could accommodate 1200 people. In 1955, with the establishment of the Penang Diocese, the church underwent renovation and restoration. Today, the white cathedral exudes an exotic charm against the backdrop of lush green grass and blue sky.
