Introduction

St. John's Fort, originally a Portuguese-style chapel built in honor of St. John the Baptist, was later converted into a fortress by the Dutch to protect the historic city of Malacca. Today, only some remnants of the walls and bastions remain, but climbing to the hilltop offers a stunning view. Especially during the evening, visitors can witness a magnificent sunset.
