Introduction

KTMB is the main railway operator in the Malay Peninsula. Its railway network was built during the British colonial period to serve the tin mining industry. In 1992, the Malaysian Railway Corporation (KTMB) was established, becoming a government-owned public company. KTMB is headquartered in the Kuala Lumpur city center and the old Kuala Lumpur Railway Station, both designed by British architect A.B. Hubbock, are architectural landmarks.
